March is here and that means one thing… Spring Training season has begun! Just because you enjoy spending time on the sand doesn’t mean you can’t also spend a bit of time at the ballpark.

Two nationally-recognized Major League Baseball teams call Fort Myers-Sanibel home during this time of the year—The Minnesota Twins and The Boston Red Sox.

The Twins have called Fort Myers their home away from home since 1991. This team plays at Hammond Field, a local stadium that seats 9,300 guests. Hammond Stadium hosts everything a new fan or seasoned fan would want—including dining options that will please any Minnesotan, authentic cheese curds. Hammond Stadium is recognized as one of Baseball America’s Top-5 Spring Training facilities.

Hammond Field is located at 14100 Ben C. Pratt Six Mile Cypress Parkway, Fort Myers, FL 33912.

The Boston Red Sox reside at Hammond Stadium at Jet Blue Park. The 2018 World Series Champs also call this ballpark “Fenway South”. This stadium is the areas largest spring training facility with seats for 11,000 people. The park plays homage to the official Home of the Red Sox, Fenway Park in Boston with its very own “big green monster” wall in left field.

Jet Blue Park is located at 11581 Daniels Pkwy, Fort Myers, FL 33913.

Please check local newspapers and websites for information about game times and ticketing information. Both spring training facilities are less than one hour away from our gulf front property.

If you are interested in a little bit off baseball, a hotdog, and experiencing these seasonal events we highly encourage you to swing by and catch a game—it’s one of the greatest local activities you can experience during your springtime in Sanibel.
